Alkaline Antioxidant SmoothieThis is a POWERHOUSE! Full of the MOST antioxidant-rich green, alkaline foods it is filling, alkalising, antioxidant-rich, healthy oil-rich, protein-rich and simply delicious.

Alkaline Antioxidant Green Smoothie

Serves 2

Ingredients

A handful of Kale
A handful of Spinach
2 Broccoli heads
1 Tomato
A handful of Lettuce
1 Avocado
1 Cucumber
1/2 clove Garlic
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
A little water to the texture you like

Instructions

All you have to do is blend it all up! Start by blending the avocado, cucumber and lemon juice to form a mushy paste, then start adding the other ingredients.

You can blend in a little ice if you prefer it chilled, or add a little chilli if you like it HOT HOT HOT!

This will fill you up for hours. I like to have it after a workout or for breakfast and it keeps me going for ages.

OPTIONAL: if you find it all to veggie when you first start alkalising, you can blend in a little fruit of your choice to sweeten it up or add some capsicum (pepper) for sweetness.

When you say head of broccoli do you mean 2 florets or two huge heads?

    • Carla Reply

Ha! Just saw someone asked exactly the same questions. Thanks!

    Hello!
Quick question, the brocoli raw? And is it really 2 heads as 2 whole brocolis? Around 8inch diameter each?
I tried but it was to much brocoli it wouldnt blend in my blendtec, made me wonder if it should be cooked first.
    Thank you!
I am following the alkaline reset diet and loving it

Hi Ross excellent information I will reccomend your site to my patients
the small things that count HOW to do it and what portions is not on most other alkalizing sites
my time is taken up showing people WHY they should alkaliize with our scanning system
    and hyperbaric chamber
I am more an elemental healer and use very littl as far as supplements go I prefer food and herbs

    regards

    Hi Ross
This is the first time since downloading all the information in your website, November last year that I have contacted you.
I had been introduced to your website, by a friend.
Whilst subscribing to your way of eating, I had also just started reading Fit For Life, by Harvey Diamond. So, this book, inconjunction with your valuable information has in 3 months
allowed me to go off my blood pressure medication, together with cholesterol medication as well. I feel well. Also, I have lost 6 kl as well. I was only 85 kl to start with, so the weight loss was not the main aim.
So…. my question is, “Doesn’t blending kill or reduce, or burn off the nutritional values of the veggies or fruits we put in them. I have a slow type juicer, could this be used to make the green smoothy?
All the best mate and thanks for your great recipes and invaluable information. OH & by the way, I have forwarded your emails onto about 10 of my friends.
    Best regards

    Kar

      Hi Karl

      Congratulations! Great effort!

Regarding juicing vs blending. There is some nutritional content loss with blending, but you have the benefit of the fibre remaining. It’s worth doing both – having juices AND smoothies.
