Health & Diet Blog Round Up: #3

THDBR

As another week has gone past by the blink of an eye here is our third health & diet blog round up, giving you a quick summary of some of the diet and health developments which have been happening.

There are of course a plethora of posts from other health blogs, but these are the ones which have caught my eye this week. I hope there is something of interest to anyone, as the posts range from the Raw food world to general health news!

Without any further delay, here you go:

  • Can Children Cleanse their Colons? Matt Monarch is a co-founder of the Raw Food World Store, which is a website and radio show dedicated to raw food living. Matt is 100% raw vegan; his diet consists of only raw vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and seaweeds. He has been eating this way for eight years and enjoys extraordinary good health, bountiful energy, clarity of mind and a deepened connection to nature. In one of his latest blog posts he writes about if children can cleanse their colons, which is a very interesting topic. Click here to read his post!
  • Can Laptops Harm Male Fertility? Looking at general fertility statistics it is very alarming to read that fertility levels in our Western world have significantly dropped over the past decades. This affects both men and women. The exact reasons are unknown, but it is widely believed that our general lifestyles inc our diet, stress levels and environmental reasons are significant determining factors. Do we really know what effects e.g. electromagnetic radiation might have on fertility? Dr Weil posts about the possibility of laptops harming male fertility. Click here to read more.
  • Natural Healing Herbs, Herbals Formulas and Foods – My Favorites. Reuben is the founder of All4NaturalHealth. He is enthusiastic about everything to do with natural health, after having suffered from ill-health himself. In his latest post he gives an introduction to his favourite Natural Healing Herbs, Herbal Formulas and Foods. He asks the question if herbs work and compares them to prescription chemical drugs. • Almonds can Prevent Diabetes and Assist Weight Loss Efforts. Some of you might already know that almonds fall into the alkaline category of nuts, which is great, as they are not only healthy but also delicious. It is therefore amazing to learn that almonds can assist in weight loss and prevent diabetes! If you find this as interesting as we do, then have a look at John Phillip’s blog post, who is a diet, nutrition and health writer/ researcher whose mission is to report on cutting edge use of diet, nutrition and lifestyle modifications to improve the quality and and length of life. • Is Salt Unfairly Demonized? Monica Reinagel is a licensed nutritionist with a Master’s of Science in Human Nutrition, who also went to culinary school. She regularily posts on her blog about food and nutrition topics. Her goal is to make eating healthy just a little bit easier, a little bit saner. I found this particular post from her very interesting, in which she talks about salt and the demonisation of it. Is salt really that bad for us as we are constantly being told? Click here to find out more.

That’s it for this week, but check back next Friday for our next health & diet blog round up!
