Alkaline Three-Ingredient Brain-Boosting Bites!

Brain-Boosting Bites Recipe

Brain-Boosting Snack Recipe

I absolutely LOVE this recipe! It’s a super-alkaline, brain-boosting snack that is both delicious and hugely nutrient-dense.

It’s also SO quick and easy to make and only requires THREE ingredients:

  1. Cacao
  2. Dates
  3. Walnuts

All three of these ingredients are great brain-boosting superstars.

Cacao Brain-Boosting Benefits

Cacao is one of the best sources of antioxidants on the planet. It’s also a huge source of magnesium, which is essential for healthy brain function.

Magnesium supports brain function by:

  • Regulating neurotransmitter function
  • Maintaining healthy nerve function
  • Helping to protect the brain from stress and inflammation
  • Supporting cognitive function and memory

The antioxidants in cacao include flavonoids, catechins, and procyanidins. These powerful nutrients help to protect the brain from damage caused by free radicals, inflammation, and oxidative stress.

Dates Brain-Boosting Benefits:

Dates are a great source of vitamins and minerals like iron, potassium, and magnesium (again).

Potassium is especially important for cognitive function, as it helps to regulate blood pressure and improve blood flow to the brain.

Walnut Brain-Boosting Benefits:

Walnuts are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3s are essential for brain health, as they help to protect the brain from damage and support cognitive function.

They also contain a compound called ellagitannins, which has been shown to improve memory and cognitive function.

This recipe is so simple, all you need to do is blend everything together in a food processor and enjoy!

If you want to get really fancy, you can roll the mixture into balls and roll them in coconut shreds, or shape it into bars.

I like to keep mine in the fridge so they last longer, but they’re just as delicious at room temperature.

Reply to JoEllen – cocoa is roasted, it’s ‘dutched’ and cacao is what it is, raw.

These are absolutely amazing, thing is,
I ate half of them already.
    I can’t stop at one.
I made them tonight during the commercials while watching a movie.
Thank you Ross for the recipe.

Ross, and for this easy recipe! 💕

Those Dates are a bigger variety. I find them at Costco.

Do you need to soak the dates?

    • Heather Reply

I didn’t soak mine. In fact, my dates were pretty hard because I had them stored in the fridge for a year or so. They chopped up easily and was easy to form balls.

Awesome recipe! I eat these separate daily. It will be fun combining them! Thankyou so much! 👍

Where do you find some of these ingredients? Health food store, Amazon? I think this is why many do not make these recipes, or at least I do not. hard to locate the ingredients. For instance, never heard of medjool dates.

Where do you live? In the U.S., most grocery chains stock raw dates, including medjool. The Sprouts chain is particularly good at stocking most healthy ingreadients.

You get all those ingredients in a health food store or a bulk store, even in a large supermarket (which may not have them all the time). Try Aldi, Woolworth etc

Yum! I just made these, only instead of walnuts, I wanted to use up a bunch of raw almonds I had…super good still! Next time I’ll use walnuts. If they are this good with almonds, I can only imagine they’ll be even tastier!

I’ve looked at cocoa and it seems to be the same as raw cacao. Is there a difference? I’m not sure what I need to be looking for.
    Thank you,
    JoEllen

You probably should have mentioned not to use a high-end blender such as Vitamix, without having a dry-ingredient container/ blade. It could damage a wet container blade. Better to use a cheap food processor or a cheap blender.

Glad I saw this I was going to use my Vitamix Blender guess I cant make these

      • Ross Reply

Use my regular vitamix blade for these all the time and never had an issue.

Is this snack good for my teeth. Dentist says that I need to stay away from sugar to save my teeth. Did you have any idea how I can prevent cavities and save my teeth? Thanks

    • Juanita Reply

I have all the ingredients going to try it.
