It’s Got Almonds In and It’s Freaking Me Out!

Wurrrr

I know, I know, this is a health blog – but this has at least got almonds in it. And your eyes are related to your health and this is messing mine up!

If anyone can explain how this works I will give them a free prize*

*not sure what yet but it will be good.

I notice also that if you stare at a single almond, they stop moving. This is soooo cool!

Nice picture you got here! I noticed that if I do not move my eyes they remain motionless. I’d like to have an explanation of my own, but I think it’s all about their position.

    Howdy Amanda

    How’s things in Holland?!

I just tried the squinting and you’re right! It makes it stop! How WEIRD!

I absolutely LOVE the loss = reward thing you have got on your blog – it is brilliant. I also enjoyed reading through some of the blogs you link to. I had not come across a few of them before so that is always a bonus!

Glad to see you linking to FatBitch in there – Holly’s blog is a great read.

Have a smashing day and stop by again soon!

    Hey Tanya

Thanks for heading our way and thanks for the kind words!

I really try to make sure that I visit everyone who pops up in my referrals too – it is a pretty cool way of staying on the ball with whats happening out there in the blogosphere!

I was digging your blog the other day – I love the header! Did you design that yourself?

Thanks for the link – that is the first time my bro has been mentioned on another blog so I am sure he will be pleased! But whats with the redirects? Is that part of your stats/analytics tool?

Have a great day Tanya – I look forward to heading your way again very soon!

Wow that is one freaky picture! I can’t STOP looking at it! If you squint the picture stops moving. Isn’t it amazing how your eyes play tricks on you! Greetings from Holland, Amanda Jane. 🙂

Ok. First I love that someone actually knows how this works… there is a reason for all that random knowledge out there! And, I love the image… it’s fun and it obviously keeps your mind working, which we all need every now and again.

I visit everyone’s site who visits mine (I like to pay back the favor)… so here I am at yours. Cool site, I look forward to going through it and I may even link your almond image to one of my posts!

    Great job.

The key to this optical illusion is the light and shadow on the little almonds. While your eye is focused on one almond, your brain is trying to organize the rest of the almonds into a logical order but because the light and shadows are wrong (not coming from the same direction) this results in your minds eye distorting the image to try to put a logical frame of reference to the image. It’s similar to the necker cube effect or the egg box optical illusion (this one relies on light and shadow too).

Great thing to stare at first thing in the morning! 🙂
