Thursday Health & Diet Blog Round-up (THDBR) #21

thdbr

THDBRCrikeys. I have not done a THDBR for about 2 weeks now and this is the result:

From my bloglines accout:

  • 2602 unread blog posts from
  • 78 blogs

OK – I am going to try to keep this to under 15 otherwise it could get silly.

  • Diet Blog – kick off with the surprising fact that Subway are now almost neck and neck with McDonalds in terms of outlets worldwide. Personally, Subway are definitely the lesser of the two evils and I hope that McD’s are feeling the heat. Their almost sickening initiatives for kids health really get me at the moment – could they be any more hypocritical?
  • Fat Bitch – showed the importance of sticking to your goals – but also celebrating your successes.
  • Diet Girl – on the struggle to find sports clothes that do not make you look like a chav – or even worse, a chav-wannabe!
  • Run FatAss Run: made a very important and support-worthy post last week. His sister-in-law is a dietician with the WIC programme which helps families ‘stay healthy’. Basically, the support seems to be based around the vested interests of food manufacturers – rather than the interests of those being supported – and his sis-in-law is trying to raise awareness of this. Have a look here to see what she has to say.
  • Mercola – posts a nice little post about fresh vegetable juice being shown to cut the risk of Alzheimer’s.
  • I Ate a Pie – posts the 6th Blog Carnival here. If you have no idea what this is – pop over and check it out. If you are a blogger then get involved! Cheers again to Patricia for featuring us!
  • Real Muscle – takes some time out to answer readers questions about Women’s Workouts. Some good questions and answers in there that I think will help a lot of people.
  • Nikki – is having trouble setting goals – while Gary gives us a great nutritional plan for race (running) days.
  • Refigerator Raid – posts probably my fave of the week about research covered by Reuters that shows that people who love their bodies are more likely to eat more healthily and live healhier lives. The post goes on to list some great advice about how to become more connected with your feelings about your body. Read this post.
  • And finally – a point to Moe’s new blog address.
