Energy Juice Recipe

The Alkaline Juice for All-Day Energy!

Energy is currency. We all want to feel lively, vibrant, and able to tackle the day head-on. We all want to feel energized throughout the whole day, from the moment we wake, through the afternoon, and until we’re ready for bed.  Waking up early, going to bed late, but ready.  It adds HOURS to each day where we can be productive, pursue goals and nourish our relationships.

Packed with all of the nutrients your body craves to produce energy this juice goes a LONG way to fixing fatigue and replacing energy slumps with vibrant, energized living.

How the Body Makes Energy

Before we dive into the recipe, let’s discuss how the body produces energy. The primary energy currency in our bodies is a molecule called adenosine triphosphate, or ATP. ATP is synthesized in a tiny powerhouse inside our cells called mitochondria through a process called cellular respiration.

The body uses glucose from carbohydrates, amino acids from proteins, and fatty acids from fats to produce ATP. This involves several stages, including glycolysis, the citric acid cycle, and the electron transport chain, where the majority of ATP is generated.

Several vitamins and minerals, known as micronutrients, play a crucial role in these metabolic processes. These include B-vitamins, magnesium, and coenzyme Q10, among others. They act as coenzymes and cofactors, facilitating the chemical reactions that produce ATP.

The Ultimate Energy Boosting Green Juice Recipe

Now, let’s talk about our green juice recipe. It includes a variety of delicious, high-alkaline vegetables known for their huge micronutrient content, particularly those involved in energy production.

Why This Juice Boosts Energy

Now you may be wondering, why is this juice an excellent choice for boosting energy? Well, the ingredients in this juice are rich in several micronutrients that are vital for the production of ATP.

Spinach, Swiss chard, parsley, and kale provide B-vitamins and magnesium, both key players in ATP production. Beetroot adds more B-vitamins and manganese, plus it may enhance blood flow and oxygen delivery to muscles. Bell pepper and cucumber offer additional B-vitamins, while celery provides even more B-vitamins and magnesium. Broccoli is one of the few vegetable sources of Coenzyme Q10, which aids in ATP production in the mitochondria. Ginger may improve circulation and digestion, while lemon, high in vitamin C, serves as an antioxidant to protect your cells and mitochondria.

  • Yield: 2 serves 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large handful of spinach (magnesium, B-vitamins, iron)
  • 1 large handful of Swiss chard (magnesium, B-vitamins)
  • 1 medium-sized beetroot with leaves (B-vitamins, manganese, iron)
  • 1/2 medium-sized bell pepper (B-vitamins, especially B6)
  • 1 cucumber (B-vitamins)
  • 2 stalks of celery (B-vitamins, magnesium)
  • 1 handful of parsley (magnesium, B-vitamins, vitamin C)
  • 23 leaves of kale (magnesium, B-vitamins, vitamin C)
  • 1 medium-sized broccoli stalk (CoQ10, B-vitamins)
  • 1 small piece of ginger root (for taste and additional health benefits)
  • 1/2 small lemon, peeled if not organic (for taste and vitamin C)
  • FIltered water to taste

Instructions

  1. Thoroughly wash all your ingredients.
  2. If you have a powerful juicer, you can put the ingredients in whole or in large pieces. If your juicer is less powerful, you may need to chop your vegetables into smaller pieces to avoid jamming the machine.
  3. Start with the leafy greens, then juice the beetroot, bell pepper, cucumber, celery, parsley, kale, broccoli stalk, and finally the ginger.
  4. Squeeze the lemon into the juice after all other ingredients have been juiced to help mix the flavors and add a bit of zing.
  5. Stir the juice to mix the flavors.
  6. Serve immediately for the best taste and highest nutrient content. If you need to store it, keep it in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within 24 hours.

This juice is full of vitamins and minerals essential for energy production. Of course, it’s important to remember that juicing removes fiber from these ingredients, so ensure you’re getting enough fiber from other sources in your diet.

    Hello Ross,
I would really like to get in to juicing but don’t have a juicer at the moment.
Is there one you would recommend, there’s an array out there and not sure which to choose, am leaning towards a Nutri juicer or SMEG. i want a powerful juicer that e*tracts the most nutrients.
    Any advice is appreciated. Thankyou
Looking forward to trying out your Tumeric/Coconut loaf, looks delicious.
    Kind regards,

The very very best juicers out there are the Hurom brand – H100 or H200 are both AWESOME.
